GAF is a newly launched product (class III medical device) containing :

  • Micronized metallic silver vehiculated by a specific sized sodium hyaluronate (or hyaluronic acid).
  • The two compounds ensure the best performance when used for anorectal lesions / disorders such as hemorrhoids, anal fissures, pruritus ani (itchy anus), etc.
  • Silver (Ag) in micronized form, when ionised into Ag+ is able to eliminate bacteria and fungi when applied in correct dosage.
  • Hyaluronic acid / Sodium hyaluronate is able to increase the healing rate, reduce scar tissue and very importantly, ensure longer presence of Ag+ at injury site for increase functionality.

What is GAF?

GAF is a uniquely formulated gel containing Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and micronized silver for the treatment of anal mucosal lesions.

How does GAF works?

GAF forms a protective film over the affected area creating a hydrated and protected environment that promotes healing.

How effective is GAF composition?

The combination of HA and Silver in GAF provides an effective barrier against microbial invasion hence limiting the possible risk of infection and facilitating rapid healing. GAF also promotes mucosal healing, reduces irritation, pain and discomfort due to friction or other mechanical action.

If you currently present symptoms and have been diagnosed with pruritus ani, anal fissure, hemorrhoids and anal fistula/abscess then GAF could be helpful.

When should I not use GAF?

If you experiencing excessive pain, bleeding, difficulty on passing stool and have reported any previous allergies to any of the component of GAF and if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you should contact your medical health provider before using GAF.
